Multiplayer Godot 4 without a game server

A GDScript addon for Godot 4.3 and later that runs on every platform Godot exports to, the web included. HibiraSync keeps a node’s position in step on every screen, and HibiraRoom adds rooms with seats, a host and chat.

  • A Hibira autoload set up in Project Settings: no code to connect.
  • HibiraSync: add it under a node, and that node follows its owner on every other player’s screen, smoothed.
  • Rooms speak the same events as the Lobby package, so Godot, Unity and browser players can share a room.

  1. Install

    Copy addons/hibira from the latest release into your project,
    then turn it on in Project → Project Settings → Plugins.
  2. Use it

    # Project Settings → Hibira: app_key = YOUR_APP_KEY, host = ws.hibira.io
    func _ready() -> void:
    	var scores := Hibira.subscribe("scores")
    	scores.bind("updated", func(data, _user_id): print(data))

Before you start

  • Turn on Allow client events in the app’s settings, so players can send each other moves and taps.
  • For a web export, add the page’s origin (for example https://yourname.itch.io) to the app’s allowed origins. Native builds send no origin and need nothing there.

Use the app key from your dashboard; the secret stays on your server. Channels, events and authorization endpoints work exactly as they do with Pusher. Create your free account →
