Limits are per account: connections, messages, push subscribers and push notifications are counted across all of your apps, and the plan sets how many apps you can enable.

A message is one event you publish, through the HTTP API or as a client event. Deliveries to subscribers, webhooks, presence joins and leaves, cache replays and watchlist updates are free.

Need more than your plan?

Every plan has hard limits, so you never get a surprise bill. On paid plans you can also buy prepaid credits: your apps can then go up to 2× the plan, and only the usage past the limits is drawn from your balance. When it runs out, the plan’s limits apply again.

Messages past the daily limit$1 per million
Connections past the plan’s peak$0.80 per 1,000 a day
Outbound data past the allowance$0.25 per GB
Push subscribers past the plan$0.07 per 10,000 a day
Credit packs$10 · $50 · $200 · $1,000
Validity6 months from purchase; auto top-up optional, with a monthly cap

Frequently asked questions

What counts as a message?

Each event you publish to a channel through the HTTP API, and each client event, counts once. Deliveries to subscribers, presence updates and pings are free.

Are limits per app or per account?

Per account. Peak connections, daily messages and push subscribers are counted across all of your apps, the same way Pusher Channels counts them. Each plan also sets how many apps you can enable.

What happens when I reach a limit?

We email you at 80% and 100% of your connection or daily message limit. Beyond the limit, new connections are refused with Pusher error 4004 and publishing returns HTTP 429 until the daily quota resets at 00:00 UTC. Nothing is billed after the fact: upgrade any time, or on a paid plan buy prepaid credits that pay for usage past the limits, up to twice the plan.

Do you offer an SLA?

Yes, on Enterprise plans: 99.9% monthly uptime, with service credits of 10% of the monthly fee below 99.9%, 25% below 99.5% and 50% below 99%. Other plans have no uptime commitment; incidents are published on our status page.

Which payment methods do you accept?

Cards and the local payment methods Stripe supports in your country.

Can I cancel any time?

Yes. Cancel from the billing portal; your plan stays active until the end of the paid period and then moves to the Free plan.
