Node-RED nodes for realtime events and push notifications

Send sensor readings, order updates or alerts from a flow to every open browser, dashboard and app at once, react in Node-RED to events your web pages send, and send push notifications to iOS, Android and the web.

  • hibira out sends msg.payload as an event to one or more channels.
  • hibira in subscribes to a public, private or presence channel and outputs every event, including client events from browsers.
  • hibira push sends a push notification to devices by interest or user ID.
Clicking inject in Node-RED: hibira out sends each order, hibira in receives it in the debug panel, and the web page on the right shows it at once.

  1. Install

    # or Manage palette → Install in the Node-RED editor
    npm install @hibira-io/node-red-hibira
  2. Set it up

Add a hibira out node → Hibira app → Add new
      App ID: YOUR_APP_ID
      Key: YOUR_APP_KEY
      Secret: YOUR_APP_SECRET
      Host: ws.hibira.io

Before you start

  • Requires Node-RED 3.0 or later and Node.js 18 or later.
  • For hibira push, also enter the Push instance ID and secret key from the app’s Push tab.
  • On the Free plan, list every origin your pages load from in the app’s allowed origins (http://localhost:3000 while developing, then your domain). "*" needs a paid plan.

Use the app key from your dashboard; the secret stays on your server. Channels, events and authorization endpoints work exactly as they do with Pusher. Create your free account →
